Directions to the University of Cologne
By train, public transportation and taxi
From Cologne Central Station
Take the subway/tram line 18 from the central railway station in the direction of "Bonn HBF" to the stop "Eifelwall/Stadtarchiv". From there, walk through the green areas to the Chemical and Physical Institutes. Alternatively, take the subway/tram line 16 or 18 in the direction of "Bonn HBF" to the stop "Neumarkt", from there take the subway/tram line 9 in the direction of "Sülz" to the stop "Universität". The Physics Institutes are located directly opposite the stop.
You can buy tickets on the platform or inside the train. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes.
A taxi from Cologne Central Station to the university costs approximately € 18.00.
From Köln Messe/Deutz Station
Take subway/tram line 9 in the direction of "Sülz" to the stop "Universität". The Physics Institutes are located directly opposite the stop.
A taxi from Köln Messe/Deutz to the university costs approximately € 20.00.
From Köln Süd Station
Take the "Zülpicher Straße" exit, which you reach via platform 4, then turn left along Zülpicher Straße in the direction of Lindenthal until just before the "Universitätsstraße" junction. The Physics Institutes are on the left-hand side (walking time: approx. 5 - 10 minutes).
Alternatively, take the stairs down from platform 1, then keep right after the station and follow Otto-Fischer-Straße until you reach the green belt. Continue straight ahead and up the small flight of stairs. You will find the Physics Institute on your right and the Chemistry Institute on your left.
There is a wide range of connections from station Köln Süd to various suburban trains and regional transport services, which also run to the central station and station Köln Messe/Deutz.
Please note that no ticket for public transport in Cologne is included in the conference fee.
Information on bus, regional train and tram connections in the Cologne area can be found on the VRS website. Please purchase a corresponding (weekly) ticket there if required.

By plane

By car
There are only very limited parking spaces available on campus. If possible, please use public transport to get to the conference.
